When sending a print the dialog defaults to using an AMS even if an AMS is not present. The software obviously can detect an AMS and this forces a unnecessary selection of external spool.
What version of Studio are you on? This works just fine for my printers that don’t have an AMS; they default to external spool.
I’m not 100% on this, but I believe you have to set the filament type in the AMS section of the device tab, which tells the printer what it has. Then you sync printer information on the prep tab.
I think it’s a stupid change to the workflow. Making it Studio can’t just tell the printer what it is using when sending the code over seems like a weird move.
This happened to me last week after installing update Version 2.2.2.56. I’ve always had an external spool and never had AMS all. After updating I had to reconnect my printer as it couldn’t find it then it keeps defaulting to AMS on Send to Printer in Devices. There is no AMS option in the settings to change it.
Set the filament in the EXT spool on the device tab. Go to prepare and sync the filament. You should only see one, and it should pick it by default.
Edit: Unless you feel like seeing the color accurate on your preview you only really need to do this once. One spool the printer couldn’t care less what it is, unless you change type/subtype of filament (PETG-CF) as this is hardware (nozzle extruder) dependent and needs to also be set on the printer under accessories.
