So I’ve run into this three times recently. If you pick a file to reprint directly from the screen on the machine it does not check that the nozzle is compatible. Twice now I’ve hit reprint on a file that is setup for a 0.4 nozzle forgetting that I have the 0.2 installed. And it just tries to print it. The result is a stringy mess or constant stops due to “filament being tangled”.

It’s my fault for not checking the nozzle, but why doesn’t the printer warn you like it does if you try to print something with the wrong nozzle from the slicer?

did you tell the printer what type of hotend it is? it could be assuming that you did not change the hot end.

It was set correctly in the settings yes. So the machine knew the 0.2 nozzle was installed. But instead of throwing an error it just tried to print.

and this is from internal files not bambu studio or handy.

It was originally from Bambu Studio, but this attempt was a rerun from the internal memory.

tell Bambu I think you use a support ticket to report things. and you got your print done after you changed the file right?

I swapped the nozzle and reprinted from the screen and it worked.

I posted here hoping Bambu would see this.

3 times, huh? Any independant solution?

Yeah I swap nozzles a lot and I forget which one is in there. When I print from the computer it warns me, but if I print from the screen it does not. I don’t realize what is going on until I check on the print and notice it’s printing weird.

Maybe print a mechanical indicator of which nozzle is installed. Are you printing from an sd card?

I’m just selecting things I previously printed from the interface. I have a few prints I do a lot so they’re always still on the card. I use the app and cloud for most things, and it warns me before allowing me to print with the wrong nozzle.

The weird part is I have been doing this for years but for some reason have only run into this 3 times in the last month or so. I’m not sure if it use to remind me or if it’s always been this way and I just got lucky that I didn’t do this before.

Spit balling here, since I use different slicers of different vintages, so I might be mixing things. Print file names contain material type & nozzle size. If the file name changes, deleting this info, it might be a problem. If I mix my A1 with my mini sd cards, things won’t print. Since neither printer has a nozzle choice in their settings, mismatched nozzles will still print, creating a problem if the nozzle is smaller than the programmed size. Heavily wears on extruder parts.
