So you want me to compare the amount of filament spools that you have printed to the entire amount of filament spools that Bambu has sold?
I have had the filament spool with stick a piece of plastic through the hole fail on me with a few different manufacturers, one of which was Overture. There, now my anecdotal evidence combats your anecdotal evidence.
Can you provide what percentage of Overture rolls manufactured have failed due to the filament getting jammed in the hole once the end of the spool is reached?
My point about the taping of the filament was that Bambu was running into an issue with their attachment method for filament spools. They pursued a solution that no longer involved the mangling of the filament at the end as a method of attachment. They encountered a batch of filament that was manufactured that had their solution implemented incorrectly, they identified it, corrected it, documented it, and then posted it on the community. They also refunded and replaced the filament that users reported.
