While cleaning and reaching in, on the top left hand corner I quite deep cut the back of my hand on that very sharp metal corner.
Why not is that thin metal strip mounted all the way to the left, I am wondering ?
Must design and print some protection, rounded piece to clamp on, or U-Profile from left to right since that metal strip is very thin and sharp too …
Sorry for what happened. This is not metal but plastic although it’s hard and sharp. It is the part that will push the cutting lever when unloading filament or use at any filament change if you use an AMS. It can fold forward and there is a small print that you can use to make it stay folded if you wish that have 2 advantages: 1. It will not protude any longer and make it safer when cleaning 2. You can get the full printing area (no more exclusion zone at the front left of the plate) but have one disadvantage of course, no more automatic cutting of the filament. If you don’t use the AMS that’s sort of OK, you will just have to push the lever by hand when unloading and changing filament but if you use the AMS, you can’t do without it…
Here’s the print for the tool to make it stay folded: https://wiki.bambulab.com/knowledge-sharing/print-volume-limitations/bambu_lab_printable_blocker.stl
And the full wiki page about it: Print volume limitations, and how to use the full build volume 256x256x256mm³ | Bambu Lab Wiki
Thanks for the info, I think keeping a close eye on it and paying more attention now, is the best way, since I have the AMS and does not want to loose that automatic cutting feature. ![]()
