Shipping troubles

Can you guess which carrier delivered it? You’re right! It’s FedEx!

They smashed it up pretty fully. I’m exceedingly shocked nothing fell out of the box (the box was partly opened, but not as visible from this side, the side without my shipping address on it, haha).

I want to blame Fedex for this, but let’s be honest, it’s partly on Bambu too. They tend to pack things very loosely sometimes and I’ve had troubles with it a few times. Specifically I order filament and Maker’s Supplies separately, otherwise it’s a recipe for potential disaster. I’ve lost parts before when the filament bounced around and broke the box open.

For reference, only about half of the box was full. So, I’m not surprised at all with how it got smashed up. Everything did come intact though! And nothing lost.

Bambu’s packaging of their printers is a bit better. Like I watched the Fedex guy drop both my H2D and H2S on delivery. The H2S’s box was especially beat up. I recorded the unboxing of that one because of that, but it came out fine. When I see people with printers damaged in shipping, it makes me wonder what kind of hell that package went through. What did Fedex do to your poor baby?!

Regardless though, Bambu could improve their packing procedures for filament, parts, supplies. Their packaging job is the first line of defense against FedEX and guys, let me tell you, FedEx is a PRO at destroying packages.

Anyway, I kind of feel the urge to listen to some accordion music.

Ophf, that’s a bit of a minefield. I waded a little bit, but the bombs started going off, and I got out of there!

My sister has worked for a few shipping companies, and she regularly frames things, puts them into perspective, especially when we get packages that are damaged/roughed up. When I told her about FedEx dropping my H2S out the back of the truck, she just more to less said “you wouldn’t want to see what they do to your package at the warehouse”.

I’ve gotten a return before, that was marked as new. That was from newegg and I stopped purchasing items from that after that because of how they fought me on it and made the whole experience difficult.

As quizzes go, you blew it.

Some in that post assumed the OP was lying and that Bambu Lab couldn’t be part of the problem and needn’t be part of the solution, despite laws.

It is good that @Josh-3D has shared his experience as his word is basically the most trustworthy one.

Sorry to see this @Josh-3D it can happen to the best of us, and it did!

I have seen some improvements in the packaging, but it appears to be whichever staff members are boxing up orders as some are still bad.

The companies chosen to deliver and the total lack of BL adding pressure to them to fix the issue is party to the issue. The customer blaming doesn’t help by some on the forum and directly by BL.

That’s the odd thing. I see so many complaints about FedEx, but they have been nothing but great in my experience. I can only assume that the majority of the damage is done in the final leg of the journey.

I have designed sorting systems for similar applications. It is very hard to that extent of damage on heavier packages like that. It is mostly the little stuff that will get caught up somewhere.

I lol’ed

Nice carnage

Check this out, a different vendor, but they decided to pack 11 rolls like this. That odd one out was so destroyed

Looks like Ace Ventura delivered that package. Where’s the GIF when I need it?

Glad it all made it ok though. I worked in warehouse management for years and from the packing standpoint it can be a roll of the dice on if it’s packaged properly or not based on the employee at the time. I’ve ordered quite a bit from Bambu and only a couple were too light/almost non existent on the packaging.

You did nothing wrong and I wasn’t blaming you, just bouncing off your comment.

looks like it was placed on end in a truck and then had a bunch of other packages stacked on top of it.

The bottom of the Yertle the Turtle stack. Glad everything was usable.

I haven’t seen it in a while but I remember when Amazon seemed to ship a lot of their stuff in boxes that were a few cubic feet too big. Took them a couple of years but seems like they figured it out.
