I just received it and I’m appalled at the condition of the packaging. I can see the H2S from the large hole in the box! WTF! I hate FedEX. I don’t know what to do and I want to send it back. I’m expecting high precision machine and I don’t understand how it hasn’t been damaged.
Should you, no, but in reality, I doubt you have a choice.
The box is clearly damaged, but unless the printer has noticeable damage to match the locations from the box, I doubt Bambu Lab will care.
I have seen far worse to a box and the product works without fault.
I have seen far less and the product fails.
The printer working or not is the key differentiator and not the very concerning looking box.
If the printer is noticeably damaged, fails to start, or exhibits any issues, immediately inform Bambu Lab, fully document the issue, including photos from the delivery and demand a replacement.
Sorry this happened to you. Good luck not sure what i would do…
Daniel.
Printers are very well packaged inside, so the outside box damage is likely not an issue!
Having said that, doesn’t bode well for how it must have been handled…
Because we sometimes need to laugh at a situation.
Funny

Take plenty of pictures, but really, youd be surprised.
If it fails any of your first tests do not hesitate to fire up the “replacement plz” furnace. The couriers have honestly treated this one fairly well. The packagers know this is too large and heavy to ship carefully, and build a lot of well thought out bolstering to take the abuse. Doesnt always work tho.
I got my first prebuilt printer delivered upside down; the print head had been knocked loose and the machine printed as if it were possessed by the devil. It took five months to get a replacement, as company P insisted they had to try every possible fix before agreeing to replace it. My H2D arrived with a large hole in the outer packaging, but judging from the forum it still seems I have had fewer problems than many others, so I now take photos of both the damage and the entire unboxing process.
My H2D was not even delivered to my home; I had to drive quite a distance to pick it up myself, and only then did they tell me that the box was damaged.
Take it, it should be fine. When I got mine, I was amazed at how well the box was packed. Lots of tightly packed foam and it was packaged as a box within a bigger box. In addition to all the engineers Bambu had working on the printers, they must have had an engineer work on the packaging as well. These get thrown on shipping containers and shipped around the world. I really think they could drop the box from 3 stories and the printer would still be fine.
You already did accept it.
Sound like you are asking if you should open it.
Yes.
If you see any visible damage while unboxing, stop.
The only way to find out is to open it.
So what happened in the end ? Worked fine ?
Thanks @MalcTheOracle - I just watched 2 hours of bad delivery videos !
If not too late, I’d video the various reveals/unboxing moments and not just take photos. Sometimes they need lots of “proof”.
It is good that you took photos showing the damages on the box right on the ground where it was delivered.
If the printer is damaged, these photos can help Bambu Lab to prove to Fedex that the damage was most likely done by them, not you, not Bambu Lab.
Continue to take photos as you unbox, or even better, take videos like MZip suggeseted. But it’s not necessarily that Bambu Lab needs lots of proof for itself, but that Fedex may want to point fingers elsewhere if there are not enough proof that it’s them that caused the damages.
My box was in a better state, although a large indentation across the entire front. When I started to unpack I’ve noticed that the front glass was all in pieces, all inside the plastic bag protecting it. When I took the printer outside of the box I saw a large dent to the bottom front frame. Unbelievable how they treat these deliveries.
