I just recently ordered the P1S, havent recieved it yet, but I live in a pretty humid area and heard that moisture can kill spools quality.
I have seen that there are upgrades for the AMS for the sake of moisture control or the like (by adding interfaces for 3rd party hardware).
So as I dont have an AMS, I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a side mounted enclosure that can be printed, that allows for something similar?
Would something like humidity control even be needed or would a simple enclosure be sufficient?
If I can offer a newcomer any solid advice, it’s to NOT believe anything you read—only trust what you have personally verified. This forum can be a great resource for becoming self-reliant and learning to separate opinions from facts through your own analysis and verification of what you “read” or “heard.”
Is moisture a problem? Maybe, but wait until it actually becomes an issue before getting caught up in the hype. I learned the hard way that chasing internet threads about 3D printing can lead to countless rabbit hole expeditions where you suddenly look up and wonder, “Where did the week go?”
The technical term for this is: Paralysis by Analysis.
This is where we spend so much time pondering what could go wrong and so we don’t do anything. Don’t let this happen to you, just get out and print, you’ll learn fast enough what does and does not work for you. The whole beauty of 3D printing is that if it didn’t go the way you wanted it to go, you can always change it and try again.
That’s fair, and I usually would do as such.
But I have nothing in my hands yet as the shipment is still on its way, and because I haven’t got the biggest budget for filaments I wanted to prepare ahead of time before I as actually rip open any of the bags.
But I still agree with not chasing down threads about an issue that one may one may not even have gotten around to experiencing themselves.
Dryboxes, good to know.
I’ll be sure to check for the rest as well.
Im probably going take one of the dryboxes and resign it to be mounted on the side of the printer as I don’t have the most surface space on my desk to put something next to the printer.
