Significant Print Struggles

Been using my Bambu Labs X1C printer for 2ish years. It’s been a gem…love it! But this past week it started failing on every single print.

It’s gapping/air printing, having poor bed adhesion on layer 1, practically missing print layers on certain parts. I’ve replaced the nozzle and done calibrations. Tried pretty much everything I can think of but nothing is helping. Now I can’t even get a basic print to even stick on the first layer.

One of the last prints I tried to do literally scratched the supertack surface off the build plate. I’ve run auto-calibrations, reset the printer to factory settings. Nothing is helping.

Nothing has changed from what I can tell. Maybe the extruder is failing or the motors are struggling? It’s just not putting the material down consistently.

Any thoughts?

I recommend taking the extruder part and cleaning it. Also, look for wear. If you are at the 2-year mark, it is probably a good idea to replace it with a hardened steel version.

I’m guessing based on this wear & tear…I likely should just replace the Extruder?

It looks pretty dirty. You might be able to clean that up and lube per the Wiki and get a little more life out of it. I would order a new to have on hand at this point.
