So, I am in the process of talking with Bambu Lab support on how to fix my X1 and why the bed will not collaborate anymore. That being said, they told me to take everything apart to check a wire to make sure it was working. As that is not the problem, I need to put it back together to run another calibration and send them the log. My question is, is it important to put the silicon on the wire and connection like it was before? If so, what should I get? Or should I not worry about that? I want to make sure I do it right before I do something and break it.

In the Wiki they list using the glue as “optional”. I think it’s mostly to keep the connectors from vibrating loose during transport. I’m sure it helps keep them from vibrating off during printing too. I’ve replaced a lot of parts and never used it myself, no problems with anything coming loose so far.

As long as the connector mates with some reasonable amount of friction, you don’t need the put any silicon on it. If you can disconnect it by lightly tugging on the wires, you probably do want to put a dab on it to keep it from backing out.
I removed the printhead on my X1C a week or so after buying it. I had to peel off the silicon from the connectors to do that. I did not reapply any silicon when I put it back together. Hasn’t been needed. Connectors stay connected just fine on their own.
