Silk Issues

PLA Silk, bone dry, spent a day in a dehydrator, calibrated.
Print speed is set to not go above 60mm, 40mm Outer wall.
Whats causing these weird dots?

What do you have your “Seam position” set to?

Most likely you have Seam set to Random, change it to something else.
For this type of model, set it to Aligned.

Seam is set to back, can this cause it?
Will try with aligned and see what happens thanks.

No it will not change what you have.

They were trying to see if your seam was set to random as it might have explained the nature of the blobs.

Your seam position is not the fault here.

The next obvious question is, have you dried your filament?

What temp are you printing at, what’s the hotend temp…??

Temp is 230, filament is bone dry, I made sure of it.
I have attached some settings to see if they could be the issue.

Z Hop might be your issue, it might be leaving a blog each time.

I looked at my Silk settings, & everything is off. But, it’s up to you if you want to try it that way or not.

A friend of mine set it up for me so I think i’ll disable it all and try that, although I think he changed the printers defaults also, is ok for a screen grab of default printer extruder settings please  thanks.

Reverted everything back to default.
I’m not using Bambu Silk, but I spotted Bambu Silk has no retraction override enabled in the filament settings, but generic has only retraction enabled and is set to 0.5mm. I find this rather confusing, unsure whether to use Bambu’s settings or the generic setting.

Use the Generic Settings, but change the temp to 215*.

Thanks very much.
So retraction changed to 0.5mm from default stock printer setting 0.8mm, this is for generic PLA Silk, sorry, just want to make sure I got everything correct and back to normal.

No, these are my settings I use for PLA+ and Silk.
There is a Generic PLA Silk setting you can choose from the dropdown if you like.

Ah ok cool thank you, so it’ll be 0.8mm retraction due to the actual printers extruder settings. Thank you.

Almost got the Silk Profile dialled in now
