I recently acquired an H2C which of course has the AMS 2 Pro included (I have a second AMS 2 Pro but I may use that on my X1C). Additionally, I bought the 24V power supply for the dryer function. The first time I ran dryer mode everything was fine and dandy. However, when I tried powering the dryer via the 24-volt power supply it would stop completely anywhere from zero to 30-ish minutes into the task without throwing any error code. So, I hooked up my AMS HT to dry the filament in question which it did without any issue since it has its own power supply built in.
So just for kicks, this morning I unplugged the 24-volt power supply from the AMS 2 Pro and started the drying function and now everything works fine. Apparently when you only have a single AMS 2 Pro, the power for the dryer MUST be supplied through the 6-pin cable and not via a second source. I would think the unit would be agnostic with respect to where it gets its drying power from, but it apparently ain’t so. This might be able to be solved via a firmware revision, but I’m not sure.
Anyway, I just wanted to point that out in case anyone else has a similar issue. There might be documentation elsewhere on this anomaly (maybe I’m just too old & lazy to find it).
