Hey all, so I was posting in another thread recently about getting myself a Mako hotend to make nozzle swapping smoother. So I ordered it with a couple of extras and it was due to ship in 6-weeks.
Well I had an email off them saying they were having trouble with the initial batch of orders. Here are the full details:
It all sounded a bit too much work for something that cost me nearly £200 all-in with the extra nozzles etc, so I emailed them back to cancel my order. I then noticed the A1 mini was on heavy discount from BL so I only went and bought one with a 0.2mm nozzle for pretty much the same price as the Mako was going to cost me.
So now I basically have a dedicated 0.2mm machine and I couldn’t be happier with it. The camera is a potato, and the default spool location isn’t well thought out, but a mod soon sorted that. Quality is pretty much on par with my X1C and it’s virtually silent on the desk next to where I work. Love it!
Good call. I’m a big fan of my A1 mini and it sits next to me in my home office. It’s my go to for most prototype prints before I move on to my X1C for my final printing. I need to print that spool holder you’re using, it would clean up my workspace by further reducing the A1 mini’s foot print.
