My daughters school has 3 Prusa M3’s running. They have chromebooks that are given to them.
There are 3 school maintained computers in the same room. These are what they are to use for slicing.
I agree with Olias, there’s nothing really to gain. Schools aren’t a bastion of 3d printing nerds just longing for access. They do have some, but not to the extent that Bambu would benifit from going the route of a web slicer.
Think about this. Prusa is established. If they haven’t bothered why would anyone else?
That sucks, I know the pain in owning a printer with no slicer, I recently though found a slicer for free that works on Chromebooks but it’s pretty slow, and slicing anything close to the size of the build plate simply does not work but its better than nothing (Kiri: Moto)
my school has yet to block it since I’m probably the only one using it but since they blocked Linux for us as well your best bet would be to find pre-sliced models until the time comes for you to find a better slicer or haggle to school to get you one unblocked.
