Problem: Bambu Labs slicer generates oval holes, the smaller the hole the greater the ovality

Steps to reproduce: Generate a test piece with holes from 3mm to 8mm with horizontal axes, slice in Bambu Studio, then slice the same file in Prusa slicer, as below-

The problem lessens as the holes get bigger.

That depends on how set the layer height and what kind of nozzle you use.
0.2 nozzle with 0.06 mm height
0.4 nozzle with 0.20 mm height
0.8 nozzle with 0.40 mm height
When comparing Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer, ensure that you set the same layer height and nozzle. Increasing the layer height makes the hole more oval-shaped because the resolution is no longer sufficient.
You can also do a counter-test and rotate your object by 90°, with the holes facing the plate, and they should be perfectly round again.
Thanks for that- I changed to 0.08 layer height ( best it would let me do) and in the slicer, the holes now look pretty good- mind you, the print time has more than doubled, from 9 hours to 26 hours!
But if it gives me nice round holes that will grip heat-set inserts properly, I really don’t care about the time.
