Slicing this, very strangely, it just … skips filling in some sections, only to come back later? Seems inefficient for it to do it this way. I’m not sure what settings I should try changing for this (I’m trying to combat stringing), or even IF I should, maybe it’s doing that for a reason?
OrcaSlicer does a similar thing, although different sections, sometimes multiple skipped in a row, to then come back to finish it before moving to the next layer. Suggests to me this IS intentional on some level but for the life of me, I don’t know why
It’s not intentional it’s just deficiencies of the pathing algorithm. Even on a square the infill path can randomly jump around. You can try enabling “Avoid crossing walls” to try mitigate stringing.

White is “Gap infill”
That area is too small to put a wall. But it is big enough to apply gap infill. Modify your gap infill settings; or your wall widths; or your CAD to make those features 0.4mm wider to accomodate a printer to put a second continuous [inner] wall in there…
