Looked at print times on the new H2D vs the X1C today, haven’t bought one yet but planning on when they come back in stock.
I print a lot of PA6-GF, and loading up a .3mf file that I use for my X1C printer, takes ~23.5 hours, but the same thing on the H2D profile is 1d 8h. The time is mainly gained in sparse infill.
Looked at other print files even on PLA, the H2D is still marginally slower than the X1C.
I think there is a bug in the new Bambu Slicer version.

Same filament usage in the prints, just drastically different print times, and they don’t change back to what they’re supposed to when going back from the H2D to the X1C.
I have to close the program and reopen the file to get back to the 21hr print time.
yep same here… watch for 0.2 nozzle it keeps the first one in the list as i could see … so meaby you are slicing with a 0.2 nozzle wich takes way more time as we have 2 nozzles now. the other thing i saw buggy is the new purge tower. it always gets in the way, once i have sliced the model the purge tower changes size and then i can now move it around more to the edge of the printer, wich in my is a bug as i can see
I’ve loaded up a profile and made sure I have it set to the 0.4 nozzle on the H2D and I’m seeing longer print times for the H2D. 2hr8 m for X1C and 2h48m for the H2D. Is there anything else that I should check for?
I now see what was tripping me up. The new Bambu Studio was changing my layer height from 0.28 to 0.2 when switching between printers. I think that is going to be a problem.
I tried a different profile with the normal 0.4 mm nozzle that takes 8 hours to print on the X1C and it said on the H2D, it would be 5h34m.
The model uses 3 colors with two colors used on just about every layer until it gets near the top where there are some three color layers.
I tried the high flow nozzle and again, it wasn’t any faster.
Im guessing that time savings was from only needing to purge one nozzle for 3 colors.
with more than 3 filaments, it may not be much faster since the purge time is usually longer than print time unless doing a huge part. This is what i as crying about the last couple weeks.
2 filaments to each head may be only slightly faster than an x1c. 6 seconds saved per layer if only 1 purge. Knocks 6 seconds off of each 1-2 minute purge.
Because the extruder only engages one side at a time(one extruder motor), they wont be able to print with both nozzles and then purge both nozzles at the same time for the next 2 colors, which would have cut purging time in half. Could have also had both filament paths on the same side, with one nozzle behind the other and a double channel extruder gear. Then you could have also printed with both nozzles at the same time. Also wouldnt have lost z axis bed space
I played around with the new version of slicer and choosing “High Flow” nozzles does not seem to do anything. So I think you have to manually bump the max flow rate in the filament profiles, or they will have an update with some new profiles.
The acceleration is a little slower on the H2D and the high flow nozzle isn’t setup to make a difference in the profile (even though the drop down adjusted in the filament profile takes the filament from 28 to 48 in volumetric speed).
What’s odd is, the P1s has a PLA Matte volumetric flow of 22 and the is H2D 28, but it’s still slower by about 5 mins in 90min print file. The biggest difference I saw was acceleration (H2D 8,000 vs P1S 10,000). Unfortunately, the slicer is crashing when I use the compare function. But I don’t understand how it can have faster travel and infill speeds along with 30-40% more volumetric speeds and be slower.
However, on a second file I found it sliced with a 1 min faster print time in a 120 min. print. It could be a geometric deal. Dunno. But it still doesn’t seem to square with common logic. Given how buggy Bambu Studio 2.0 is, it could be something in there too.
In my playing around in the new Bambu Studio, the issue appears when using anything better than the 0.20 mm Standard profile on the H2D - in one model, a birdhouse designed by VegaWoodWorks, both X1C and H2D run about 4 hours to complete - change the profile to 0.12 mm fine and it’s 5 hours on the X1C and over 18 hours on the H2D! Using a smaller layer height almost quadruples the time on the H2D with the expected increase of only 25% on the X1C. This has got to be a slicer or profile bug, doesn’t it? I don’t see how the higher inertia of the larger H2D print heads explain this.
There are definitely issues in the Studio profile. For example, they need to fix the defaulting to a 0.2 mm nozzle. Also note, advertising max acceleration as 20,000 mm2 is also a little dishonest. The only motor that can accelerate at 20,000 mm2 is the extruder. So yes… it is “a” max acceleration, but most people are assuming that is the motion system max speed, which is actually 16,000 mm2. Oddly travels are limited to 9000 mm2 acceleration (but that was the same on the old printers), which the profile is incidentally set faster than the hard limit in the slicer for some reason. Lots of little holes in the slicer.
However, the difference in acceleration shouldn’t be taken lightly. The slower acceleration is the effect of the dual nozzle. Slower acceleration will be a contributor to the slow prints. In the past, I believe the biggest difference in the Ludicrous, fast, and slow printing modes was the acceleration values (not really print speeds). So don’t underestimate those.
IMO, 2000 mm2 in acceleration shouldn’t make this large of a difference, but it may be a contributor to the problem. I noticed the infill is using the faster speeds and higher flows. It is set to 600 mm/sec and just about reaches it. I didn’t see cooling causing any slowdown in the models I was test slicing.
What I did find odd was, before changing the settings, be sure to select the proper nozzle. I played with the settings for a long time thinking something was broken before recognizing the nozzle doesn’t default to the nozzle the slicer chooses. So, I was changing the left nozzle speeds and wondering why everything was making no changes when the slicer decided the right nozzle was the printing nozzle.

The only real difference is the two nozzle configuration. And that is causing more problems than on the X1C when using multicolors. the H2D has a more unfriendly GUI regarding printing multcolors.
Example: print 30 multicolor objects where the front is the same but the back of each object has another number. Using the X1C you can select process global, enter a number of a color at a component, hit enter for the next line, type a number, hit enter etc. So in a few seconds you have edited 11 components of one object.
On the H2D this is more time consuming. Set colors via process global is not working. “Error:
currently, the object configuration form cannot be used with a multiple-extruder printer”
so, you gave to use process object. If you select an object you don’t get an adjustable window (On the X1C you can adjust the height to see more lines) , you can enter a number but you cannot go to the next line for the next component with enter. You have to select the component with the mouse , enter a color number etc. And scroll to got to the rest of the lines of that component. and that 30 times…
