Sluggish Orbit/Rotate v02.00.xx

TLDR:
v1.10 = Perfect graphic performance on Mac Mini M1
v2.00 = Trash graphic performance on Mac Mini M1

When BS 2 first released, I tried it on Mac OS (M1 Mini). Orbiting an empty plate in Prepare and Preview yield very sluggish performance. I immediately downgraded back to v01.10.02.76.

I decided to give the newest versions a try this week (v02.00.02.57) with the same results. I have now reverted back to v01.10.02.76.

Suggestions for work around on new v2.0 BS ?

Anyone?

I saw one user @user_1224741816 mention this issue on their Mac Mini when switching over to v2.00. Surely we’re not alone…

Same issue here on M4 Mac Mini ever since the 2.0 update. Every action inside the 3D viewport is sluggish. Even the mouse cursor moves sluggishly when it’s anywhere over the view even when Bambu Studio is not the foreground app. Returns to normal when I move the cursor to the sidebar.

Same!
What’s crazy is it runs smooth on my MacBook Air M1, but not on the Mac Mini M1… I don’t get it.

I submitted a report to Bambu. They said it would be documented, and the current solution is to revert back to v1.10.

Perhaps everyone with this issue should be submitting a ticket?

Were you ever able to find a solution?
Did you revert back to previous v1.10?

Nope. It’s still sluggish. I’ve been using OrcaSlicer which doesn’t have that problem.

It’s a Mac display resolution scaling issue. For me, anything more than 1920x1080 will cause the prepare workspace to be sluggish and borderline unusable like in your video. I have to resize/scale down the Bambu Studio app window or move it to one of my monitor that does not have scaled resolution enabled.

So the work around is to resize down your app window, or use a display resolution no more than 1920x1080 under System Settings > Displays.

I noticed making the window smaller helped the issue on my m1 Mac mini.

However, I ended up getting a new Mac Studio M4 Max 64GB

The issue doesn’t exist with new machine.

Your Scaled Resolution is probably set to Standard. Can you see if changing it to More Space (higher res) will make it sluggish?

making the window smaller on my M4 Air (with 4K external monitor) makes the program run as expected
