Small zits appearing only on one angle of vase mode print

Hello, I’m getting small zits like this only on one angle of a circular print so it doesn’t seem to be random. I dried the filament at 55 degrees for 8 hours. I am printing with Silk PLA at 230 degrees using a 0.8 nozzle. Another try with basic PLA didn’t give me any problem like this or it’s not noticeable. I lowered the max volumetric speed to 12. Was wondering if anyone had any experience like this. I’l try disabling retraction next time but retraction shouldn’t have any effect on vase mode anyway, right?

If the filament is dried well enough, sometimes 8 hours is not nearly enough, but if it is dry, this could be over/under extrusion, it’s hard to tell from the picture. Have you calibrated the filament with the 0.8mm nozzle? If not, try the flow rate/dynamics calibration.

I did the calibrations so I guess I should try drying it for another 8 hours, thank you.

It could also be random seams, check that too. I’ve seen it happen at least a couple of times, here’s a thread on specifically on that: Defects on final surface - #9 by slw2206 , scroll up to the top to see the OP’s original issue, just below reply #9 I posted a link to an @Olias guide in reducing seam bits, if it’s a seam issue.

But since it’s printed in vase mode it shouldn’t have any seams. Apart from the bottom layers.

I’ve yet to print in vase mode, so I’m not very familiar with it. I read the Spiral Vase mode | Bambu Lab Wiki , at the bottom, there’s a note about bumps. I’m not sure how this relates to your model.

With vase mode it’s basically gotta be something in the filament itself, right? It’ll never retract or travel, so thats like 99.9% of extrusion related complexity gone. On a single area of the vase is interesting. Anything unique about that part of the model or is it all uniform?

Yeah I watched that video before, thank you. I never encountered Bambu printers having that power loss recovery issue anywhere though.

I solved the problem by reducing the temperature to 210 degrees. In my case I was using Polymaker Silk and a 0.8 nozzle.
