I am new to 3D printing and I’m running into an issue with smearing from a design I’ve created - hoping someone can help! See pictures of the smearing below where the black filament is always smearing around the face.
Here are specs for my set up:
• Using Bambu X1C
• Smooth PEI Plate
• PLA Basic filament (Bambu Labs brand)
• 0.4mm nozzle
• Printing my model face down
• Built modling using Adobe Illustrator for the 2D sketch
• Extruded the parts in Adobe Fusion
• Using Bambu Studio
• Dimensions of model are 33mm wide and 24mm in height
Below are some of the things I’ve tried so far in different combinations. I’ve tried changing some of these one by one to really focus on how it affects the prints too.
1. Drying Filament for 12 hours before prints.
2. Printing on a brand new smooth plate and cleaning with alchol after prints.
3. Flushing volume to 650mm when switching from any colors.
4. Unchecking the “Flush into objects’ support”.
5. Tried decreasing black and/or white filament initial nozzle temp to from 220 to 190 degrees C and various temps in between.
6. Tried adjusting bed temp from 55 to 45 degrees C and various temps in between.
7. Adjusted filament prime tower volume to 45, 90, 120, 150 for all colors in different prints.
8. Adjusted filament ramming length to 7.
9. Turned off “always keep fans on”
10. increased “no cooling for the first X layers” to 3
11. Set Retract amount before wiping to 90%.
12. Set Wipe distance to 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm in different prints.
13. Adjusted Z hop to 0.4mm and 0.6mm.
14. Adjusted retraction length up to 7mm.
15. Enabled the “Retract when change layer”.
Enabled the “Wipe while retracting”.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
