For some reason my software won’t open. My software version is 2.8.2.61. I tied reinstalling the software. I tied to restart/shutdown my computer. I have a intel imac with 8DDR4 ram. I made sure no apps were running in the background. I also posted the problem on reddit with a video of the software not opening. https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1w5lmx4/comment/p7l9hnl/?context=3
For some Bambu Labs won’t open for me. It will pop up with a blink splash screen. I treid to restart and shutdown my computer(Imac, Intel i5, 8DDR4, ram os, Sonoma 14.6.1) and reinstall the software but nothing. I even tied to install an older version of the software but still nothing. Here is the link to my frist post https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1w5lmx4/comment/p7kt3cd/?context=1&screen_view_count=2&ext-referrer=SEO
What errors do you get when you start it manually from the terminal?
Or, do you have errors in the logs (typically the application log). The Mac ships with a log viewer app.
Yeah… I’m not a computer geek lol
I don’t know how to do that kind of stuff.
One thing I don’t know if it’s worth mentioning but I will mention any ways. The day the software stopped opining it opened just fine until it stopped opening. I closed the software for a few minutes. When I tried to open it again that’s was when the problem started.
How do you open it in the terminal?
I’d suggest downloading the latest non-beta version. You’re running a beta version right now, so you are more likely to hit bugs.
Oh, That beta version was probably from the older version I tried downloading earlier. The new version I have is 8.2.8.61. I that the one I have troubles with.
Again, I don’t know if this is worth being up but I downloaded a version from this topic but it still doesn’t work for me. Bambu Studio Won't Open MacOS
Following up for others. We solved the problem in messages. For anyone who runs into this again, here are the steps:
Troubleshooting steps if Bambu Studio won’t open on your Mac
1. Try deleting Bambu Studio’s preferences & cache
- Go to Finder (click the smiley in the far left of your Dock)
- Click the menu item “Go”, select the “Go to Folder” item (2nd up from the bottom)
- Paste in the following:
~/Library/Preferences - Find the file named
com.bambulab.bambu-studio.plistand move it to the trash.
- Paste in the following:
- Click the menu item “Go”, select the “Go to Folder” item (2nd up from the bottom)
- Paste in the following:
~/Library/Caches - Find the folder named
com.bambulab.bambu-studioand move it to the trash.
- Paste in the following:
- Try opening Bambu Studio. If this worked, you’re done. Else, let’s try the next one…
2. Try deleting the Bambu networking component
This component is a common failure point. Nobody seems to know why. This step will force it to fetch a clean copy from Bambu’s servers.
- Go to Finder (click the smiley in the far left of your Dock)
- Click the menu item “Go”, select the “Go to Folder” item (2nd up from the bottom)
- Paste in the following:
~/Library/Application Support - Find the folder named
BambuStudioand/orBambuStudioBeta. It’s likely both will exist. If so, do the next step in both of them. - Open the folder, then find and trash the file named
BambuNetworkEngine.conf - Find and open (not trash) the folder named
plugins - Find and trash the file
libbambu_networking.dylib
- Paste in the following:
- Try opening Bambu Studio. If this worked, you’re done. Else, let’s try the next one…
3. Delete the hidden support files
These usually are not the culprit but will sometimes be a problem.
- Repeat step 1 to delete the preferences file and cache, then:
- Click the menu item “Go”, select the “Go to Folder” item (2nd up from the bottom)
- Paste in the following:
~/Library/Application Support - Find and trash the folder(s) named
BambuStudioand/orBambuStudioBeta.
- Paste in the following:
- Try opening Bambu Studio. If this worked, you’re done. Else, let’s try the next one…
4. “Nuke the site from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure.”
Replace the Application itself.
If you get this far, something is busted in the main application itself, not just its support files. Let’s get a whole new copy from Bambu:
- Repeat steps 1 and 3 to delete the preferences and cache and support files
- Go to your Applications folder and drag Bambu Studio to the trash.
- Download Bambu Studio (again, sorry!) from Software Bambu Studio | Bambu Lab US
- Open the disk image file that you just downloaded. Drag Bambu Studio to the Applications folder (a shortcut will appear in the window that opens for the disk image). Eject the disk image (optional), go to the Applications folder, and start up Bambu Studio
If none of that works, then it’s time for more drastic measures, like downloading an older version of Bambu Studio. Hopefully it won’t come to that! ![]()
