Some wacky lines on some faces

Hi Folks,

P1S+AMS+PLA Silk Dual Color+0.08mm extra fine profile+Textured PEI plate
PLA was dryed 8 hours 55° before.

1st layer seems to me good. Some surfaces are perfect. Top surfaces are okay. But there are some sloping surfaces I did not understand what happens there.

Pictures attached.

Somebody any idea ?

You didn’t mention what filament you’re using. If this is multicolored silk, which it looks like, that’s not a desirable filament for making a part that will have to endure handling. It’s great for artistic models. The color variation is by design.

However, I noticed that you have your walls set too low.

That’s noted because the underlying infill is showing through. This happens because as the filament shrinks during cooling, it pulls on the outer walls. To combat this increase your wall thickness and top and bottom layer thickness.

Hi Olias,

Is “PLA Silk Dual Color” not good enough to mention ?

This gamepad is only for me, if it is worn out fast, I just print another in different color / material. So “no endure handling” is okay for me. But thanks for mentioning it. Will have it in mind.

Other PLA prints looks good. Seems to be this “color” related.

If this is an infill / wall thickness issue this is exactly want I wanted to know. I never notice this kind of error in any print before and did not understand the root cause.

I will print with more wall thinkness and more solid layers top / bottum. If it is gone, perfect, Thanks.

Silk and Matte filaments have an additive in the filament giving it the respect glossy vs anti-glossy respective finish. Both have the same problems. One other noteworthy items is that Bambu silk will stain and potentially ruin a plate. So be aware.
