Spacemouse for Bambu Studio?

Anyone using this, SpaceMouse® Compact 3DX-700059.

I was a CAD CAM programmer for an automotive company before retiring and can’t imagine not having one of these or a similar product. With Bambu Studio an Blender software I believe this would help.

Anyone have experience with one in Bambu Studio?

There’s been a couple of discussions about it, I think this was the main one:

I don’t know with that one, but it does work with 3dconnexion’s space mouse

I tagged that one as it was inside of the 3D Connexion website.

Ah oh maybe that’s the full reference, I don’t really know which reference mine is  I use the wireless small one and it works just fine

I’ve had one for about 10 months now. Works flawlessly with BS Studio, Orca, Fusion360, OnShape, FreeCAD, Sketchup, Meshmixer, SolidWorks, eDrawings and just about every 3D program I’ve tried so far.

Two tips.

  1. Scale down the speed with Studio as it is a bit too sensitive.
  2. Forget the wireless version, its a waste of money. I turned mine back in for wired. Why is it a waste? Because the whole point of this mouse is that it’s essentially a 6DOF joystick and so you don’t want it to move.

Here’s a hand rest I mudded for the device if you decide to get one. I think I found this one on printables.com for the wireless and modded it to fit the wired but I can’t remember who did the original so I can give them credit.

Here’s a pic. This print was done with untuned gray PLA that I forgot to turn off the PETG settings.

Yes… I know it looks awful and I kept meaning to print it correctly but never got around to it. It’s a 2-3 hour print.

Thanks everyone. I’m going to plug away for now. Perhaps learning the software better will be the best then, consider the space mouse.

Maybe it would be better printed with TPU. Much softer.
