Hey everyone,
I’m printing lamp shades on a Bambu Lab A1 using PLA (Basic/Matte) in vase/spiral mode.
Everything looks perfect in the slicer and most of the model prints beautifully, but I always get 1.5 cm long jagged flow lines only in the corner sections of the shade.
The rest of the surface is perfectly smooth.
All the curve lamella shades are the same. So the corner ones are not a steeper angel then the middle ones.
What I’ve already tried:
- Rotated the model 45° on the Up axis → still happens at the same corner areas.
- Printed that specific section isolated → perfect.
- Tested with and without smoothing → no change.
- Checked hardware, screws, belts → all tight.
It’s not in the same position on the bed, always just those curved “corner lamella” areas on the model. Also the sides of the model looking fine and smooth. it really happens on 2-3 shades of each corners.
Any A1 or spiral-mode expert who’s seen this before?
Would love to fix it, already wasted 2 rolls of filament on this test.
Thank you very much for your help!
Best,
Jan
