Half way through a print I noticed a stringy mess on the build plate. It was late so I just removed the mess. I figured it was just bad filament, and shut the printer off.
Today I started a different print project and the it failed to retract the filament. I tried to manually retract it but the AMS has it locked and won’t allow it to move.
I removed the PTFE tube from the extractor at the hotend and it the hotend appears clean of filament. There is filament in the PTFE.
Any suggestions?

I got it working.
Found and cut the PTFE tube in the back of the printer (with filament in the PTFE tube, detachment tools do not work). Trimmed one section of the PTFE tube and found the filament, then pulled it completely out.
Cut the filament on the spool loaded in the AMS, then trimmed the remaining portion of the PTFE tube going to the AMS and found the filament. Then genitally tugged on the filament until there was movement, then completely removed it. Put everything back together and printed a test part and all seems fine.
Got to be prepared for most anything! ![]()
