Stop auto save

This drives me nuts. When I am working on a project in BS, and I screw it up wanting to start over, the program will save it before opening, basically overwriting the project that I screwed up. How do I turn that of so it must PROMPT to save? Been working with modifiers and broke it into objects, and wanted to start over, but now I have to start from scratch.

Go to the settings panel.

  • On a Mac it is from the Bambu Studio menu item.
  • Windows (I believe) it is from the main icon/title area.

Change the value. You will not get a prompt, just off or the time between saves.

When you leave the current project, you should see a warning like this:

If you do not, go to Preferences (Ctrl+P), and Clear my choice on the unsaved projects:

In the future, do NOT check the box to Remember my choice.

This seems to have worked. Now if I can just figure out how to get a top layer to rise above a bottom layer I will be happy. I imported an STL I made from an SVG. I added a layer on the bottom for different colors to show through from behind when printed, but I keep getting an error, and when I attempted a print, it looked ok until it got to I think the 4th or 5th pass and then started laying the bottom layer filament on top of the finish layer and was digging into the project.

Going to try a different method, importing it reversed and see what happens.

I am not sure exactly what you are trying or what your error is, so this is a guess.

  • Make sure you select all parts, merge them.
  • Go to the objects view in the prepare tab
  • Change the order so the top entry is your background item

This is on the basis that you have overlapping areas.

Imagine you had a disc, with a smaller cube inside with an even smaller triangle in that. All 2mm thick,

From top down in the objects list:

  • Disc - Red
  • Cube - Green
  • Triangle - Blue

This order will show all three shapes.

I got it resolved. I flipped it over in Tinkercad, saved it, imported it into BS, flipped it over and was able to color the parts properly. When I imported it the right way up, I couldn’t find the parts without breaking the parts out, and could not figure out how to put them back together. The face down method import worked and its properly printing now without errors.

Im attempting a cutout night scene with glow in the dark as the background but with 3 different filaments for the GITD. The end goal is a lightbox that glows when you turn off the light.
