Stops extruding half way through print

Hi, I’ve been having a problem that occurs about once in every 3-4 prints where, usually around 80% of the way through a print the printer just stop extruding filament. The print head keeps moving as if it’s printing but no filament is coming out.

I’m using elagoo rapid PLA+. 220 degrees nozzle temp.

I recently found out about doing a cold pull to clean nozzle and did that until there was no more black residue. I thought this had fixed the problem because I’ve done a few prints since with no issues. It prints great, no issues at all with quality, until it doesn’t.

I’m pretty sure it’s not a dodgy wound reel that’s causing the issue. Because i’ve had that issue before and the printer detects that and pauses and I can hear it getting stuck.

I’ve provided an image of what it looks like when it fails.

If anyone has run into this issue and has any suggestions on how I might resolve it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
