Having a strange issue with printing from an AMS HT.
Setup is H2S, 2 AMS 2 Pro units, and an AMS HT. HT spool is Bambu ABS.
Printing from either of the AMS2P has no issues. When I send a print from the HT, I’m getting an error “Failed to extrude the filament. Please check Assistant for more details”.
The Assistant describes how to clear the issue, but not how to keep it from happening.
Prior to adding the HT, I have printed ABS from the AMS2P with no issue. When this first happened, I had previously printed PETG-HF, then PLA (both from AMS2P), then ABS from the HT (three separate jobs) one after the other, and the problem only arose when the HT job started.
I figured it was some issue with either going from the AMS2P to the HT (separate print jobs, so not changing mid-job or anything), but them last night the last thing I ran to finish over night was an ABS from the HT, which printed fine. This morning when I got up, I started another ABS job from the HT, and got the same error (which tells me it’s not a unit-to unit issue).
The only wear/damage to the filament each time is at the point the ABS feeds into the HT (the hole in front). The filament looks thinner/pressed/squished right there a tiny bit. I did not need to cut the filament out, I was able to hold in the button and pull the filament out with no snags or complications. Just to be safe, I cut off the tiny damaged section of filament, re-fed the filament into the HT and resent the job, it’s going flawlessly as I’m writing this.
First few times using the HT unit, I’ve had it less than a week. Any suggestions?
Pics of the affected area attached.
Pull the tubes out of the 4 in 1 ptfe connector and tap it on the counter. See if anything comes out. I had the same issue and ptfe debris accumulated in it.
