Strange First Layer Pattern

Hello there,

I am have been printing on an x1 since 2 years. I often reprint stuff from the sd card and this usually works quite well.

Now I installed a new textured PEI plate and since this change all prints (usually PLA Matte) stick way too hard to the plate. The first layer also has this pattern on in you can see in the pictures, the outer rim of the parts are black, but only like 20-30 mm, the rest of the layer has some white noise and a pattern oh circles and rectangles.

I started to play with the settings but did not improve anything. Does anyone know what happens? For me it seems that the plate is hotter than it should be, the patterns seems to come from the structure of the heatbed?

Tanks in advance…

Take a fire torch or lighter to it, it’ll get rid of the white haze. For both, go easy on the fire, it can and will ruin the print if the fire lingers long enough. This happens to most of my darker matte prints, and as far as I know is a normal occurrence.

Wait some more time before removing the part. Some filaments just leave residue that is hard to get rid of.

A lighter could work to get rid of it, but a hair dryer or a heat gun works better and is safer.

This. I completely forget the heat gun. I use a torch so much for rougher edged prints that I forget I have a heat gun.
