Hi guys, any idea what would cause the darker streaks ? this is made with maker lab lightbox maker. The back section is fine but the front where there is some writing seems to throw the layer height or something off. The slicer laying looks fine but the g-code order for the black parts show laying some filament down then coming back to fill the gaps maybe in a different height or temp. thanks in advance..Bed plate is new and clean
It looks like almost normal? probably a galaxy or mate filament would hide them better
Instead of the printhead completing the full layer in one direction, the wording and design break the path up. This can cause printing in sections and visual differences.
These are caused by a cooling difference between sections or printhead printing in opposite direction in those sections.
In this situation it’s most likely how the software created it( layer section printed in opposite direction per bottom image). I don’t believe much can be done other than to try reprocessing in the software. I’d contact them direct and see what others suggest.
You can try the different bottom surface patterns and see if that reduces the jumping around in the gcode order. Monotonic is the default, but other ones might make the lines more consistent. Hilbert Curve/Archimedean Chords/Octagram Spiral will probably hide the lines, but they’ll also add a distinctive texture to the first layer, which you might not want.
Thank you, the back cover of the light box is fine so definitely a direction change going around the text sections, I thought it filament flow would be the same coming from the nozzle is any direction. The Printer is the P2S and I’ve only had it one week so I don’t think there would a small particle block in the nozzle that would make the filament come out a different shape going in a different direction. cheers
thank you, I hear the default monotonic isn’t very good so I changed it to rectilinear. Maybe it was the plate, the cool plate glacier being smooth showing the lines up more. The textured plate might fuse the lines together better but I only need one of this print so I suppose I can change plates and cancel it after a few layer just for curiosity and find out if it was the plate. cheers
