String on 2nd print with new reel of PETG-HF

Can somebody explain what causes the issue below please.
To give you some context:

  1. Brand new reel of PETG-HF, straight out of the Babmbu vacuum sealed bag and dried.
  2. The two prints were printed one after the other on a P1S
  3. No print settings were changed, just the model information
  4. The first printed perfectly, see photo
  5. The second printed with signifigant amounts of ‘strings’.

What has happened.

My guess would be that when you dried the filament it only removed moisture from the outer part of the spool. Printing the second part the inner section of the spool still had moisture in it.

In my experience, PETG drying is NOT optional. And it does take some time…
