I’m running into a weird issue — both my Bambu Lab P1S and P2S are giving me stringing, but my A1 prints perfectly clean using the same Anycubic PLA.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
PA (pressure advance) calibration
Retraction calibration
Temperature tower
Flow calibration
Tried lid open and chamber fan on
Temps between 220 °C and 195 °C
Retraction from 0.8 mm up to 1.6 mm
Filament is fully dried
Same spool prints flawless on the A1 at 220 °C
Even undried PLA prints perfectly on the A1 with zero stringing
No matter what I do, the P-series printers keep producing fine strings between travel moves.
Since you mention the full list of calibrations, I assume this is not Bambu filament? If you are having the type of stringing that I think you are - that looks like cobwebs and does not necessarily go from point A to point B on a model but might just be attached at point A and hanging or flowing like hair?
May not be the case for you, but I had experiences like this when I first got mine which made me examine the Bambu brand PLA profiles. For A1 the part fan blows between 20-80%, but the P1S blows at 100% and on top of that adds in aux fan. Your best results may be from a combination of lower temperature and a reduced speed aux fan, but just disabling the aux should give you indication if that’s the right path for you to follow.
Inside a PxS the ambient air is going to be warmer than the open air the A1 experiences. Thinking of just that by itself, it means the filament would cool slower. If that more molten filament is getting blasted by air and that air of course cools the part from the the outside in - if a tiny piece that’s now cooled and solid breaks free and is pushed by the air the softer not as dry filament attached to it gets pulled with it and then quickly cooled in the blowing air and looks like thin hair. This is to an extent how cotton candy is made. Hot sugar is spun around at high speed, leaves the center of the machine and carries a trail of hotter sugar with it that the air and velocity dries into hair (cotton) like candy.
The filament that I’m using is Anycubic PLA. using bambu lab PLA profile, i did also try the generic profile but still same issue. Disabled aux fan completely still same issue.
I haven’t played with part fan
Lid and door were open still same issue
Im still not sure what im doint wrong but i havent had any issue on A1 even with PLA that was sitting around for the past few months
I’ve got the same issue. Had an A1 Mini before without issues. But now with the P1S I have lots of stringing/oozing problems which is getting on my nerves.
I tried drying, printing with open door, open lid. Nothing is working.
Any luck with a lower temperature? You want the filament just hot enough that more filament pressing on it makes it extrude but not hot so that any seeps or oozes out without being pushed out.
Only other thought I have which really depends on the size and shape of what you are printing is to bump up the minimum layer time to be sure that the previous layer is sufficiently cooled before the next layer prints on top of it. Filament settings > Cooling > Max fan speed threshold > Layer time and increase that number.
Another thread reminds me, which I should have mentioned before since it was a problem for me that took quite some time to figure out, the location of the A series vs the P series printers. Is the temperature the same? Is air from the HVAC system hitting them differently?
I did try to lower the temp all the way down to 190c. Still same thing
But I don’t understand same filament even wet on printing just fine without a single string on all 4 of A1’s
I’m not sure what to do either the anycubic filament don’t work well on both P1 and P2 machine or I don’t know
I just use torch to remove the fine stringing. But it’s kinda annoying to do it since I’m running small 7 machine print farm and want to save some time
Yes I had a lot of stringing issues with prints on the P1S. The same filament didn’t have any issues on my A1 Mini.
But now after the reset it works fine… I don’t understand why it solves the issue but it works now.
Only a factory reset and an auto calibration during the setup.
I think something messed up during the first setup as it updated the firmware to 1.09. I also had issues in the Bambu Studio software which are now gone.
Did you solve problem? I have same issue with anycubic pla. I also did all calibrations and filament preset tunnings. I have Qidi q1 pro that prints this fillamnet perfectly.
