I have a couple of issues.
No matter what type of support I use, my overhang pieces never seem to come clean. It always looks as if the difference between the supports and the actual model blend together. I have tried rotating the model at different angles to minimize the effect, but it still is pretty lousy.
That leads me to my second question…I thought I was trying to print too small (miniatures) and purchased a 2mm nozzle. I love the detail that I am getting, but the print I just got looked like it was trunks (tree supports) that burst into a stringy mess. The attached image shows some of it as I tried to cut most of it away.
I am printing with .06 High quality with the speeds dropped to 100 for inner wall and internal solid fill as well as acceleration dropped as well.
Supports I am using tree slim, 30, on build plate only and branch diameter 1. All other settings are the default.
Try a complete filament calibration, flow ratio and k-factor.
Then use a simple test model with some supports.
Adjust the z-top distance and the interface pattern/spacing.
You want the supports to JUST bind with the model but not totally fuse together or just fall apart upon touch.
Keep in mind that any flaw in flow ratio and k-factor that you might get away with using a 0.4mm nozzle will turn into a disaster using a 0.2 one.

Ok, fairly new to this.
When I go into Calibration I see these options:
Bed Leveling, Vibration Compenstation and Motor Noise Calibration.
I have done all those.
Where is the flow ratio and k-factor?
Calibration from the Calibration tab in Bambu studio or whatever slicer you use.
You should find Flow Dynamics (pressure advance = K factor) and Flow Rate calibrations in Bambu Studio. I usually use the manual calibration option.
For pressure advance the result will be stored in a list automatically which should then be automatically applied to filaments as seen in the Device tab filament section. For flow rate you will save off a new filament profile with the newly calibrated flow rate.
Ok, I have calibrated my device several times. I am still getting stringy or non-smooth results with my overhangs/cantilever shapes. I have played with the top Z distance as well. Is there something else to do? Maybe a custom support design that would help?
I am grasping at straws here because my miniatures are looking great in all other ways, except under overhangs like outreaching arms or weapons.
