Stringy print issue with A1

Folks,

I just got the A1 with a 0.4 nozzle, and have successfully printed several objects, toy bear, toy cars, etc.

Recently, I tried printing these 5 objects with basic Bambu PLA filament and ran into some issues.

They are board game organizers / tokens. The tokens, the Shield and Presence Totem, seemed to be ok, except for a little bit of stringiness on the Shield. However, for the token trays, Fear, Elements, Badlands/Blight, I noticed a fair bit of stringiness on the horizontal components.

The Element and Bandlands/Blight trays were printed with filament that had been dried and stored in ziploc bags for a couple of weeks with dessicant and a humidity monitor, to ensure the humidity was between 5%-15%.

I thought that the filament might have been the problem, so I opened a new package of filament, printed the Fear tray and still found the issue!

Note, all the trays were printed upside down, so the tops of the trays are fine (being on the plate), but the bottoms and the middle horizontal pieces are stringy.

A post on a similar topic suggested turning on supports, Stringy underside print issue.

Another suggested adjusting the orientation of the object, Getting this stringy filament on just this one section - #2 by RocketSled.

Do either of those suggestions make sense?

To avoid more waste, I’d like some more advice before trying again.

I figured it out!

Being a rookie, I made the rookie mistake of trying to print the files as is, but, after seeing some videos, I learned to rotate the objects so that they print much better.

This makes sense, as I realized that there is no support for the top pieces when printing them vertically, so instead of trying to print the trays vertically, I lay them horizontally.

I think it’s how you printed them on the bed, not the printer or filament. Are you able to upload an image of how you have placed them on the bed? Run a ‘build’ in the software and show where your supports are? This may highlight why your print is stringing.

Thanks for replying, yes, that is correct, I had placed them as they were imported into the Bambu studio software. This was incorrect.

I learned to orient them now, so that they are facing up on the bed, as opposed to on their side, where there is no supports for the horizontal pieces.
