Struggle with print adhesion on one of my X1Cs

My oldest X1C has 2200 hours on it. There is a bug in it that Bambu support is working on (taking their sweet time mind you), but after doing some testing for them, it started struggling with bed adhesion.

I am going to list everything out, because I don’t know if it is relevant or not.

Bug issue with the printer: Chamber fan goes to 100% with PLA and PLA-CF, I can go back to an earlier version of firmware and it works fine. Both my other X1Cs don’t experience this issue with the same prints.

Recent troubleshooting Bambu had me do was to remove Bambu Studio and the user data, then install latest version again.

This didn’t help the chamber fan, so I reverted back to legacy firmware.

I had a print with PLA-CF that needed to be done so I started the print. Got first layer issue from the printer and the material didn’t stick to the bed. Ok… Grab plate go wash with hot water and Dawn dish soap and retry. Same results. Hmm. This is a part I print pretty often.

Ok, move PLA-CF to a different AMS for another printer and it prints fine.

I started another print on the first X1C with different role of PLA-CF, maybe it was the AMS slot? Nope same issue still.

Start a print with regular PLA, get some wavy printing on the first layer, but print completes.

Swap out hot end, same issue.
Swap out extruder assembly, same issue.
Go through cleaning process, clean carbon rods, clean guide rods, clean and lube lead screws.

Regular PLA seems fine now, but PLA-CF still won’t adhere to the build plate. Tried raising the temp of the PEI plate to 60*, same issue. It is like it is not being smooshed into the plate at all. However the line it prints on the edge of the plate is fine.

Here is a before and after pic of the PLA, which seems fine now.

But still PLA-CF issues.

I’ve tried different PEI plates and the Super Tack plate as well.

I’ve always used the stock filament profiles and don’t do any tuning. However to test I did try the auto calibration for the filaments, made no difference.

Other suggestions to try?

Update on the PLA-CF. I down graded the firmware again on this particular X1C to 1.07.05 and put in a brand new build plate. Print using PLA-CF came out fine.

This printer just might always have to be on 1.07.05
