I got one cause i knew it would be a usful tool to have.
Now that the extruder is jacked up, not sure if it was such a great idea. I hope i can find some help here. I can post a new topic, so here is my issue.
I stuck a “1 size larger” allen wrench than usual that is to be used into the extruder while the hotend was still attached to the extruder still (trying to clear a clog).
Now the extruder will get clogged or just stop “pushing filament” (not sure what’s happening) like mid way threw printing.
This may have permanently damaged your extruder. The spring could also not be seated correctly. It would disassemble the extruder and post pictures of what you find.
Here is the link to the wiki article for taking the extruder apart.
On youtube an older guy with an unusually large proboscis does a good job of walking you through how to clear a jam. Do a search and he’ll turn up pretty quickly.
He raises an interesting point: apparently Bambu recommends you do a cold pull from time to time as a preventative measure. I hadn’t known that before.
thanks for the reply and attempting to help. Its good to see people still trying to help eachother in these slightly ruff days.
Anyways, I did take the extruder apart, and I found that some plastic had melted on the allen wrench (the hot one I stuck inside extruder), and while pulling the wrench, some plastic had got entangled within the “direct drive” gears (or what ever they are called, the 2 metal ones pushing the filament out).
This plastic on the gears was cause it to not “catch” on the filament and was slipping, thus not extruding filament.
Thank you to all who responded with intent to help.
