I have a bunch of model parts in one 3mf. two plate I have set to be cool plate super tack while the rest are the textured PEI. No matter what I do it slices every plate as PEI. If I slice all and export or if I slice the super tack plates individually and then export individually it still sets the plate type to the texture PEI. Why?
Where/how are you observing what the plate type is set to (or used for) in the generated g-code?
Actually what matters most is that the bed temperatures are correct, according to the selected filament profile and plate (also in the case of textured vs. non-textured, some of the z-offsets may be adjusted differently). The actual plate type is only used by the printer for the detection feature, if that’s even enabled. For the slicer it matters of course that it knows the plate type being used because it adjusts the generated g-code based on that.

You set build plate type in the “nut” settings menu (where you set color order) if different plates will be used.
If all the same, it’s at the top- left in Studio.
I did use the plate settings “nut” to change those two plates so show up properly in Studio. When I send the files to the printer though and go to print it shows the PEI plate instead for those two
Yes when sending prints from Studio it will still show the “main” plate type the overall project is set to, not the per-plate setting. I don’t know why, presumably a bug or inconsistency. I ignore it.
But if you have any doubts it is “best” (surest way) to look at the generated g-code so see what’s really going. A quick way is to export g-code (File → Export) and open the file in any plain-text editor. At the top is a long list of all the active settings used by the slicer to generate the code, including the plate type and temperatures used. There should also be comments in the code itself which may be helpful.

I’ll check that out, thanks!
