Greetings, I just want to ask if others experience problem like mine.

Printer: P1S with AMS
Filament: Basic PLA (white/black/yellow)
Nozzle: 0.4
File: Can’t share but I only added support in settings for safer print
Printer Age: 3 - 4 months old (Covers are open when printing especially when hot)

I am printing this file for my brothers armor, the plate 1 successfully printed without any problem.
Then the next day I tried to print the plate 2 in about 50% it failed or experienced problem, it’s still printing but nothing is coming out in the hotend so I stopped and unload the filament (no problem unloading)
To fix the problem I disassembled the extruder and hotend to check for clogs but found none, still I performed cleaning to be sure. After I reassembled it I got into a new problem where the prints are:
- Initial L shaped purge line is incomplete/improper/none existent
- L shaped purge line is complete but the sample print is not printing or crumbled to pieces
Every time I test print it’s pooping properly but the problem above still persists
Here is the best example I have
(Finished print but the L purged line is incomplete or too thin and the print sample is not printed)
I also tried cleaning the build plate with dishwasher soap to check if it’s a adhesion problem but it’s still happening.
Any help or suggestion is appreciated
Welcome to the forum.
When you say cleaning what all did you do? Suggest a doing a couple cold pulls as there seems to be something clogging or partially clogging the nozzle.
Sorry I didn’t explain it well, the cleaning I done is I opened the extruder to check for clog reassembled it back then performed some cold pull a couple times.
To me it looks like an extrusion problem.

did you change anything in your PTFE/filament path recently that would cause it to bind / have more resistance in feeding

If you have a spare nozzle on hand, this is the time to swap and test

doing a print without the AMS as a test may be also interesting - if still bad, then maybe we look inwards to the extruder itself. Gears might be full of PLA confetti or something simple, or it might be along the lines of tension adjustment.
When I opened up the extruder to check for clog, I cleaned it properly (removing/wiping dirt) maybe I should had oiled it up too?
I didn’t change anything regarding the PTFE tube

Is it possible the PLA has some UV exposure and has become brittle?
Maybe but I don’t expose it in the sun, I tried 3 different colors and the result are all the same.
OK, here comes the dumb questions:
- How old is your filament?
- Do you dry your filament?
- If so, do you heat dry it?
- If so, do you repeat cycles of heat drying
- or dry once and store?
DO you know the ambient humidity in your printing room?
I am sorry I don’t know but it’s quite hot here since last month and the current temperature in the room is 32’C (89.6’F). Only using fans to cool it down
Do you live in a desert, or near a large body of water?
No, I am from Philippines that’s why it’s so hot and in urban area nothing near any large body of water
Yah, every where in the Philippines runs +50% humidity. You need to dry your filament to below 30% relative and keep it in dry boxes with desiccant for best results. Tons of YouTube video’s on it.
Is it the cause of your current issue? I don’t know, but it could be contributing to it.

Maybe it’s part or the really cause of the issue, I am compiling every suggestions/help I am getting here and do a running fix when it’s not too hot. Thank you so much
Heat is usually not an issue for 3D printers as long as their motherboards have active cooling. And to get the hot end to the point where it’s causing damage to the filament, you are almost at the point where your damaging the toolhead.
- Humidity, can be a factor.
- For PLA, UV damage.
- Multiple cycles of reheating for drying can also cause issue.
- Cheep filament.
- Recycled filament
- Not telling your printer that you love it (This is currently only a theory concerning Bambu printers).
- Not reading it a bed time story (This is currently only a theory concerning Bambu printers).
There are a few things specific to filaments that might cause this.
Also, look at the extruder gear. Some have switched from the plastic gear to the metal due to damage. However, with your machine being only 3-4 months old, I don’t think this is a problem. Unless of course your running the printer 24/7.

I am in the Philippines as well and humidity is always too high.
Dry your filament always, even if you just got it.
Keep it in a sealed box with desiccant in it, I am using this re-usable from Lazada (the orange one, less toxic)
If you can afford, get an AMS, even the cheapest version (without drying) helps to keep your filament dry.
For filament drying and re-activating the desiccant I am using a DIY solution, not very expensive, but needs some work to do it. See my crazy creation here ==> Desiccant drying with a cheap shoe dryer
I use the same shoe dryer connected to a sealed cereal box to dry my filaments.
