The Cool Super Tack Plate gives me the finish I want but it’s simply too hard to remove the print with or without glue. I know there are a lot of plates out there with a matte finish, but which one to order. I’d love a suggestion for one that you’ve actually used and found to give a nice finish without the need for dynamite to get the model off. You can see in the photo where it took a chunk out of a 7.5hr print. Thanks for any advice.
You could try the frostbite plates from BTT. I have one for every printer, and it’s the only plate I’ve been using on the mini. The finish though, it’s not matte. At least none of mine are. Is is a good alternative though.
The Supertack Pro plate is a little easier to remove parts from though. I’ve been using it on the H2S for PLA and PETG. No issues with removal so you have that as an option. You could also just use the Cool Plate/High Temp plate. PLA prints well on it and it provides the matte finish.
Anyway, my 2 cents.
“The finish though, it’s not matte.“
What finish is it? Gloss? Some kind of texture?
Set them on fire like the devils they are. A horrible plate that tends to cause more problems rather than solve them.
A smooth plate gives a perfectly ‘smooth’ surface, with better grip than the textured plates I love.
Unlike the textured plates, the smooth plate will not automatically release the model after cooling.
A bend will remove parts, an occasional need for a scraper, but no surface damage afterwards.
Are you referring to a BBL product? Please post a link as that sounds precisely what I’m looking for: smooooth finish and let the user worry about adhesion.
Thanks Malc!
I use this plate almost exclusively now, for PLA, PETG, ABS and ASA. They all print very well on this plate, in my experience.
This is the Bambu smooth plate that Malc might be talking about.
The Frostbite? It’s kid of a satin finish with a slight texture. From what I hear though some plates are different.
I can only speak for mine which all seem similar.
I’m with Malc though. I think the smooth plate would be the best choice for you.
Ordered. Thanks for all suggestions.
They have a version for all models.
You can also pick up a dual sided texture and smooth build plate from them or Amazon.

Thanks, Malc. It’s on the way.
I know you already ordered, but the Darkmoon Satin plate is awesome for a smooth, but matte finish. You can print PLA, PETG and TPU without glue.
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
+1 for the Darkmoon satin. I love the 1st layer look and feel that parts get from it.
