Will be making gaskets. These gaskets will be for sale for a specific use and not using glue to ease production would be a BIG plus.
Looking for suggestions outside of BL plates. I have the smooth PEI plates which suggests using glue.
Was wondering which build plate would work best for a smooth surface where it sits on the plate? I know about the Wham Bam plate, but not about user experience with it and TPU
So was wondering if there users that have options (Including wham bam) they can suggest based on experience using them.
If you print a lot I suggest you give FR10 / TK99 plates a go.
They do need clamps but if you can afford the time until the plate cooled down …
I usually leave my plate on and only give it a good wipe once a week or so.
The bond strength by default is not as good as textured PEI.
But once you honed in on the best bed temp and first layer speed you won’t have any adhesion issues.
Small parts, especially if tall should get a brim though.
I have not used TPU on my P1S and the TK99 plate but as a rule of thumb:
Set the high temperature plate in studio.
Set the bed temp about 5 degrees higher than what you use on other hot plates.
Set the first layer to about 25% below the default for both walls and infill.
This should give you a good starting point for the fine tuning.
Do NOT set textured PEI as the plate when using FR10 / TK99 plates as you will get over-extrusion issues on the first layer.
