I have a suggestion for Bambu Studio. I just spent half an hour adding slotted screw recesses into a sign so I can hang it on a wall with screws. I did this using the ad negative double tear rhomboid and discs to create voids for screw slots. It would be so much easier of there were a shape that could be added as a negative that was a “wall hang screw slot”.
If you make the shape yourself using a combination on primitive shapes and merged together, you can export the combined model as an STL.
Later on you can import your saved model into a project. Select it, right-click and change type to negative.
You can now move it, clone it and manipulate in any other way.
This gives you the ability to create your own library.
I agree your suggestion would be helpful, but I am sure you can agree that there needs to be a limit to how many shapes become available in the Studio product before things become unwieldily. The shape would need an interface to determine diameters, lengths and thicknesses. Expand this to every other potential shape that could fall into the useful category for everyone.
The option to import and ability to turn into a negative and even support enforcement or blocker means you can create or utilise anything already created.
Bambu Studio is a slicer, not a CAD package, everything added slows it down further.
To add to what Malc’ said, in CAD software what you’re looking for is generally called a “slot” type shape, with two rounded-off ends and a straight or curved connector between the openings. The ends could have matching or differing radii, eg. a screw slot that widens at the bottom to fit the screw head.
