Received my first Bambu P2S mid December, many years printing with Prusa using SuperLube as described on bearing and steel rods without issue - works great. Bambu has recommended White grease on the vertical screws and oil on the steel rods. Question can I use Super Lube with SYNCOLON (PTFE) on both the smooth rods and vertical screws …..
As far as I know, correct me if I’m wrong, Super Lube is just the name. The important thing is what comes after it: Super Lube Oil or Super Lube Grease.
You should only use oil in areas where Bambu recommends it, and grease in areas where Bambu recommends it. As you wrote yourself. As you have already recognized, different components require different types of lubrication: Oil or grease.
Sure, there are probably some users who don’t pay attention to that, but once dust settles and things start squeaking and creaking, you’ll be more likely to use what’s recommended.
Check your packaging; some tubes of lubricant should have been included with your order respectively in the box with the small maintenance items. The tubes also have labels indicating their content.
This is what the tubes look like; they should be in the box somewhere:
Thanks Retro Sharky, The Super Lube quoted is grease - very thin and almost liquid - I’ll order the correct lube from the Bambu store as required. I intend to update (remodel) my desk tool caddy hence the question ….. Cheers
You don’t have to order Bambu lubricants specifically - products from other manufacturers are fine, too. The important thing is to distinguish between oil and grease. Isn’t there a hardware store around the corner that sells higher-quality lubricants?
However, if your Super Lubegrease is almost liquid, that’s very strange, and I would advise against this product.Maybe it went bad.
