I am trying to come up with decent settings for using what BL has branded as
Support for PLA/PETG
Something is not right with the default settings for this material and throws an error which I asked about in an earlier post. I’ve used Support of ABS a bunch and it works great. Additionally, it does not throw the error I am getting with this material.
The picture below is a picture on the region where support is needed. I actually do not know that this is really a problem as much as the way the default settings are set up. Firstpic is the error being thrown, but that is a separate issue.
The picture below is one edge of the 85mm x 55mm rectangular area needing support. The supported area being the verticasl lines.
This image is set to “Filament” rather than “Line Type” with the filament being yellow PETG.
If you look closely at the upper boundary of the support you see the white “dots” that is the seams foe the upper diaganol lines. I’ll be glad to shoot a picture of th entire model and the model with settings but I would need to know which file format will carry the settings with it.
So, the white dots are seams on the model. You can also see the outer wall of the support and periodically along that wall you can see it dimples out. Don’t really know why it would be doing that but the net result is I had to use an Exacto knife to cut each every location I circled.
Just interested in peoples thoughts. It is also worth noting that that “dimpling” of the support perimeter wall is only on the short (55mm) side of wall. That having to score the ABS in those locations was a new one for me.
