I know that wasnāt exactly the question, but avoiding support is also relevant to the topic and is often criminally neglected. Check whether such strong support is really necessary.
There are important settings for tress support. For example, adjust the threshold angle to determine when support is used at all. The style of the tree supports can also be changed.
Itās a shame you didnāt post a photo or link to the model. Often, such problems can be solved by changing the orientation. Itās always a combination of settings, avoiding support, and orientation. You should take everything into account.
What Sharky says. Thereās a lot you can adjust to make support easier to remove if itās needed at all.
How close it is to the model, on build plate only or not, density, type, etc. I recently had a design where I thought conventional might work ok and save some time. It was a nightmare to get it all off the model. Changing to tree and on build plate only got me beautiful prints and the support popped right off.
There was no good orientation for the part that wouldnāt require support but thatās not true on many models. Just keep z, y, z strength in mind if the part will carry any kind of load.
There are also water soluble supports and dissimilar plastics that donāt stick well to the plastic used for a model. They all have their place in the toolbox.
āKill the planetā method - Make the support interface stronger than the part, at a cost of extra plastic. That way you can just grip the support with a pair of pliers, and RIP AND TEAR until it is done

āSupport Top Z Distanceā = tune this for your filament, lower is better quality print, but at some point, you cross an event horizon where the filament above bonds to filament below and it becomes impossible to remove. Iām usually able to achieve (Layer Height - 0.04, down to 0.11 as minimum boundary) on PLA, but your mileage may vary. Finely tuned Nozzle Temp/Bridge/Overhang has a strong impact on how low you can go.
Tree and Default both have extra params to make the ātrunksā stronger, but I dont often find that necessary - just the interface.
do you remove the suports a while after the print has cooled down ?
this could make the support bonding to the part, removing them just at the end of the print could help
