Supports failing on H2D?

Ive only done two prints on this so far, one had traditional supports and the other organic. Traditional supports survived fine, but on both objects in the organic support print, the supports fell off (not sure if adhesion or nozzle strike issue). Anybody else experience this?

Printed just with elegoo PLA that was dried.

printing on the stock gold pei? I wonder if you are facing the same bed temp issue that others were. Set the bed temp 5-10c higher and let it preheat a little to uniformly warm the bed. if you have a temp probe i would check and see if it is reaching the temperature that it is reporting.

Maybe calibrate flow rate on the filament. When the flow rate is off it can cause the hot end to knock over the supports. Also adhesive can help if its a bed adhesion issue, or if you also bought the smooth PEI plate try that as it has better adhesion than textured.

What did the failure look like? Or even better can you do a screen shot of the slice?

Not sure I get it; could you explain that in more detail?

When the flow rate for the filament is set a bit high, it can extrude more material than needed, and it stacks over multiple layers. Eventually that can cause the item or supports to be knocked over by the hot end as it moves into position, as the filament is stacked a tiny bit higher than expected.

I thought the H2D had the smarts to set proper flow rate (camera and sensors to measure it), or is that only for the first layer?

It can do the pressure advance calibration before each print, but flow rates need to be calibrated manually for non-bambu filaments. It can use the lidar for flow rate calibration but on X1 it was better to do it manually as it was not super accurate, not sure on the H2D as i dont have mine yet. Those are two different things, pressure advance and flow rate. Thats one of the big advantages of using bambu filament for beginers as its pre-calibrated.

As a side note, elegoo IMHO is not the best quality filament, thats why i recommended to tune the flow rate. With most quality 3rd party filaments, this is usually not necessary.

yes, stock gold plate. I dont have a heat gun so I cant confirm scientifically, but it feels cooler than my A1 at the same bed temp.

Are you touching the plate with your hands? That alone can be enough to cause adhesion issues due to finger oils

that would make sense to me. You are not the only one who has reported lower than stated bed temps. Are you on the latest firmware?

Most adhesion problems are usually due to a contaminated plate. A quick wash with hot water and detergent typically resolves this.

Never had more supports breaking of or losing adhesion than on my h2d. For me it feels like the nozzle is hitting them of. Dont have proof of that though.

Same on my H2D.
Iā€˜ve had never problems on my A1, but almost every second print on my H2D fails.

If you have a USB installed and you didn’t turn it off, there should be full videos of your prints you can review on it

Disable ā€œreduce infill retractionā€. It’s located under the others tab towards the bottom.

I have the same issue, when I want to print with supports the standard PLA is printing fine however the original bambulab support for PLA (linked to nozzle 2 using the external spool holder) is or flowing a bit too much or is indeed not sticking…

Same issue. All of my prints that required supports, they failed at the interface. Even more worryingly, the ai never detected spaghetti or air printing, and continued to print as normal. Im suspecting its something to do with the ā€œindependent support settingā€ and that its ā€œinvalidā€ if prime tower is used. Which to mean it means that it ignores any change to top-z and the interface should be fused to the supported surface. But no, in the photos you can see the area even warping and lifting away and even spaghetti… SMH seriously 2.5 for something my p1 and nep4 tackle like nothing… and nep4 isnt even supposed to be printing ABS…
BBL solve this, PLEASE, i love the printer but this is just breaking it for me…
