Sustainable Point System.. from Filament Sales

Proposal: Linking Makerworld Rewards to Bamboo Filament Sales

Where each 1k filament purchase, earns 1 boost token.

Advantages:

  1. Completely removes bot profit. (can’t profit bot buying filament)
  2. Boost amounts are directly linked to amount of printing activity.
  3. Makerworld rewards are funded by user spending, promoting transparency on reward budget for makerworld.
  4. Users directly contribute to the rewards budget through their purchases.

Disadvantages:

  1. Users not buying bambulab filament may not receive boosts, leading to potential freeloaders. However, since bamboo doesn’t profit from this already, these downloads are subsidised.
  2. Boosts currently expire, but a solution could involve redistributing expired boosts randomly to downloaded files (from list user has dled, one of these files gets selected). If they haven’t downloaded anything, boosts could contribute to user-voted contest fund (each contest users could vote a winner)

anyway would love hear what you guys think… suggestions good or bad welcome

They already know all your printing activity…

Yes, but there no way to fake real filament sales. And more printing = more sales…= more rewards automatically. So boosts would be tied/directly linked to printing activity,

no i dont care to use exclusively bambu filament

Well, you would not need to exclusively use bambu. just boosts would be generated from that, you would still receive them without having to buy filament.
