Why do I now have to go to the device page every time, before I can sync with the printer.

it is a very annoying thing
It never used to be the case, it seems to be a new issue with the last update.
Hopefully it will get fixed in a future update.

And selecting a printer once not always is liked by Bambu Studio and I have to select it a second time.

yeah or update filaments multiple times. And the filament mapping dialog is so weird, I am pretty sure most people just press OK there. I just want to slice my print
