When aI have been using a P1P for less than a year and not an expert. A couple of months ago i started having a problem but was too busy to track it down so now i don’t remember what may have preceded this problem.
Both my P1P and STUDIO are up to date on changes.
this problem shows up when ready to print. When i open the Print page the filament section shows PLA ! see below.
The SEND button is not active and if I open the PLA ! i get this window.
If I select the only option, EXT it will allow me to print but of course thhe filament data is incorrect.
Now backing up to the PREPARE screen I have the option to SYNC PRINTER INFORMATION, and i get this:
And when I hit CONTINUE TO SYNC FILAMENTS I get this:
I find nothing on the DEVICE page about filaments.
How do I sync filaments between STUDIO and my P1P?
Also how do I even see what the filaments known by my P1P “that are all unknown” are?
HELP!
Ext is for External. Where you can hang a spool if you have no AMS or a filament incompatible with an AMS.
What type AMS do you have? Older type or AMS HT or AMS 2 Pro?
I have P1S so pardon if I ask a question about something P1P does not have.
On your control pad, do you see the AMS? At a minimum you should be able to see the AMS on the firmware screen. Printer will be top of the list then the AMS then buffer.
Check your cables between printer, buffer, AMS.
I do not have an AMS on my P1P printer.
With no AMS, there is no syncing of filament. The AMS all have an internal RFID reader to detect Bambu Lab filament.
With no AMS you have to manually configure the external spool hanger for your filament.
Over the last few months BL has been updating not only the printer firmware, but the also the AMS devices and BL Studio’s configuration.
Follow this guide and it should get filament to the extruder.
LOADING Filament
Then, on the Device tab in Bambu Studio, select the external filament picture and click on the pencil icon.
Fill in the blanks.
