I am only a couple months into MakerLab Lightboxes with great success until recently.
I am trying to create a rather small light box 250x45x20 … Light box is a white rectangle with two text items and one png image. After slicing the text disappears rendering it not printable? Why? See screenshot below
Not enough info, can you post the 3mf file ?
Sure… I will post later on.
Im strictly guessing here but most times this happens to me its because I don’t have a color assiigned to the text.
I sliced it as downloaded and not sure I see a problem, maybe some smarter than me will look soon.
Yes. After I download then I need to sync up my spool colors to the model. That causes me to have to Paint everything correctly. It is after that when I will slice and the blue text disappears and all I see is white.
I think I know what the problem is but I cant figure out a way to say it. I hope I dont make a mess explaining this, and it may not be the best or only way
Step 1
No model loaded, check the device tab and make sure the colors are loaded the same as the printer, then on the prepare tab sync filaments from the ams.
Step 2
Load model, then you will see the model colors and filament types along with the colors and filaments you have in your ams,.
Step 3
On the project filaments tab select the filaments you have in your printer accordingly
#1 needs to be white #2 needs to be black #3 needs to be white #4 needs to be blue and #5 needs to be red.
I know this because it shows the colors under objects if I havnt changed them
Thank you. I hope to have time this evening to give it a try.
While I am not sure what was causing the problem I can tell what I did to create the light box. It was created within lightbox almost 100%. I created the white rectangle, added the two text elements and then imported the flags. I believe the problem lies somewhere with all these elements being put together within makerlab.
I have now approached this another way. I used the web based image editor Pixlr to create the entire sign with and saved as a .png with transparancy. I dropped it into the light box maker and everything just synced up with colors.
I need this with specific dimensions. 250x45x15. Now the lightbox maker would not allow for the depth to be less than 20 mm. So I had to scale down in Studion to get what I wanted. The model is currently printing… Stay tuned to see how it comes out.
