The DANGER of boosts. What to avoid

Dear friend, you have 24 models with 8 followers, 30 models printed with 11 bust, 106 downloads. The ratio of models, boosts and printed models is already suspicious, unlike you I have 15400 PRINTED models and “only” 1600 boosts with a ratio of 9.75 while yours is 2.7.
It’s easy for the algorithm and the system to doubt.

I also find your speech about boosts very strange and untrue, I receive boosts from several users and they often assign 2, never had a problem like yours.

I don’t understand if you’re doing it on purpose.
The bug you’re talking about doesn’t exist. Coincidentally, it all happens to you.
Your “friends” think it’s nonsense.
For the record, I’m not a VERIFIED user or anything, I design models and people like them. Stop smearing and making up non-existent lies just because you’re pissed off about your first gift card.

Start posting templates that people like and don’t “force” downloads, you’ll see that you’ll get everyone in the points of this world.
(I won’t go into commenting on the quality of the templates).

Roll up your sleeves and draw something people like. I have nothing else to add, these whiny posts of yours are annoying

The original intention was to reward designers that do nit necessarily gain a lot of traction or points rather than the big designers.

I’m not sure it worked out exactly as they wanted, but, close enough as smaller less well-established designers are gaining Boosts.

The 2 points was the incentive to users to spend time actually giving the Boosts.

I suggest you ask them in the ticket why you didn’t gain the points as what they said is no redemption, NOT no points.

Ask “why am I not receiving new points, you said I couldn’t redeem for a week, you didn’t say my earned points would be withheld?”.

I didn’t see that thread, but I did notice the lack of the two points for boosting after giving out 3 boosts.

Wasn’t concerned other than my first thought was there goes the only incentive to give out a boost.

This is complete bs.
There are more people, who like me, received a penalty for receiving boosts.
They are here, on this thread as well, like @print.in.3d who is in the same boat as I am.

So, for you as a user with a large following, this might be true, but for me (and others) with a smaller following, the system is broken, and sucks.

I often print way more stuff than I have to boost. I often go back to my ‘ratings’ section after receiving boosts to hand out and select some lucky person to award these to.

Obviously you wouldn’t notice, you’re a big fish in a little pond. For a little fish, they meant a lot, especially the ones you give to new models where you received 5 points, not 2.

Emailed them months ago to no reply. I’d guess it is based on size as well.

Also, I asked again for a manual review, also giving them my complete points transactions, so they can see that only one user gave me 2 boosts, in a short period of time.

I also mentioned that I don’t get it why other creators show me that they are receiving double boosts all the time, and I am penalized for once receiving 2 boosts.

I think you may have misunderstood what I wrote.

It appears you are suggesting that because I receive many points, I don’t notice the 2 points or care about them.

I didn’t say that or mean it.

I said it was never part of the equation. It was t the reason I gave them out.

I created a ticket, they eventually came back and said they don’t recognise MakerOnline as a suitable other publishing location.

I went back and took them to task.

A couple of days later they said approved it.

Try my technique.

  1. Ticket
  2. If denied, shout louder
  3. Approved!

I truly don’t know what you mean with this, but actually, I don’t think that you understand it yourself.

I, for myself can say that I never did anything wrong to get more points. There are no friends involved that boost like crazy, there are no people helping me with downloads, etc.

If you claim that there are, I invite you to make a complaint against me on MakerWorld, as I am sure they won’t find anything wrong.

A couple of us have explained the likely, albeit guess, as to why. It is possible it is statistical percentages.

Learn to read first and don’t put words in your mouth. Like the points system I see that you have your own interpretations.
I pointed out to you the discrepancy between printed models, downloads, followers and boosts. I TOLD YOU HOW THE ALGORITHM CAN INTERPRET IT and this is NOT a BUG!
You are only opening posts of complaints, you even have 2 accounts (and what are they for?).
I already told you, to do some soul searching and if you don’t like something, open a complaint to Makerworld, but the continuous complaints and non-existent Bugs seem like the fruit of a small child.

The “bug” you reported does not exist and there is a mortivation that you DO NOT WANT TO SEE!

It is close though as you haven’t done yourself many favours.

In seeking help you have attacked people who doubt your explanations. You have created multiple posts all anger based (I have done the same), but, you do not have all the facts yet.

In your least well received posts you suggested the while points system should be thrown out because of what happened to you.

You haven’t built up enough experience yet given how many points you have accumulated and your time on the forum to understand the sometimes annoying, sometimes downright stupid way MW does things.

But, it shouted out you wanted to throw the baby out with the bath water.

You are in a place of anger, you need to take a breath. Trust me, I have been where you are. Wait until your deliveries are never delivered and BL refuses to do anything at all about it, wait until MW writes up a story on you as a creator to be admired only to pull the plug because they didn’t like my honesty in the forum!

I have published 21 models, have 5 followers, 80 model prints, and 141 downloads and I have already received 11 Boosts, including 4 from the same user (who I do not know), 2 each for 2 models. Now I am worried about trying to redeem points because my ratios are nearly as low as 3d-PrintCreator. Should I be?
