The DANGER of boosts. What to avoid

That doesn’t tell the whole story nor does it tell anyone how it looks from MW’s side.

They are stating that automated system detected that as an anomaly and explaining one anomaly. Most likely on the back end the system saw more anomalies and anomalous action ratios etc. CR3 tried explaining that in The DANGER of boosts. What to avoid - #21 by CR3 however the explaination wasn’t “nice” and in your state of being agitated you took it worse than it was…

In your other threads you did mention having 3 other friends linking, downloading and printing your models:

Which as I did mention in other thread might’ve looked suspicious and I did suggest that for IRL friends reserve IRL interactions and for virtual friends reserve virtual points.

No, it isn’t. It works as it’s designed to, stopping possibly unfair point-farming. If what you say is true and you’re 100% honest with the points then you’ve got hit with a “false positive”. For example, the user I’ve mentioned here in the other post wasn’t a false positive:

That user actually went against TOS and argued about it too. You’re frustrated (understandably) but don’t go breaking ok-ish system, just because it’s flawed. File an appeal, get human to understand and then it’ll be fine or in the worst case scenario in about a week you’ll beable to redeem points that you’ve earned and will honestly earn.

Nobody cares about screenshots of your points, Makerworld can see who is cheating and certainly does not publish IPs or anything else.
According to MW you used different accounts to assign yourself downloads, boosts and points. Get over it, they caught you red-handed and the sanction was soft.
It is useless for you to continue making statements in all the posts, given that you have been here for a short time and you have not even understood how it works.
If I may, the person who replied to you has been here a little longer than you and knows all the evolutions of MW to change things and avoid games.
Before you we have seen many with these whining, caught with their hands in the cookie jar and then coming to complain on the forum, even crying scandal and proposing the elimination of points as a system.
It is all quite ridiculous.
Honestly, continuing to argue is useless, I just hope that someone takes action on the falsehoods that you are shooting left and right.

Consider yourself lucky that they have not prevented you from collecting points for 3 months

I’ve had to start 3d printing wider door frames to get around the house.

I don’t have multiple accounts. It’s a lie !!!
The onlyone mentioning this, is you. Even MakerWorld doesn’t say so.

Lol, that sounds funny to me. Of course I am mad about stealing what was already given. Yet, as I already told in my other post, I don’t give a single F about points.

I have enough income to not care about 40 Euro’s. I care about doing justice. I am sitting at home with PTSS (PTSD) because I have seen a bit to much in this world, especially in the Middle East, and if there is something I just can’t stand, then it must be injustice and lying.

Don’t even… don’t remember me of my bad experience with the Gigastorm please :sob:

You have one of these? I’d love to get my hands on one, already have an idea for a chair design

I was supposed to have one, yes. I even got a dedicated room just for that beast of a machine. Did the kickstarter thing and got it at the lowest kickstarter price at the time. It was a steal and i really needed that size for my work projects. Unfortunately, the pallet was “lost” somewhere in Germany and never arrived. Had to fight for a dispute for a replacement or at least my money back and in the end they chose money refund because at the time i made the dispute the Gigastorm already costed double the price of what i paid. yeah, bad luck i guess.

All my hopes and dreams were gone :sob:

From what I’ve heard of that printer, getting your money back was probably the better outcome, haha.

I have perfect solution! To solve this issue i volunteer for you all to mass boost my 3 models! to test ofc, sometimes a sacrifice has to be made! for good of makerkind. I will update hourly! (note: this just a joke don’t really do this. don’t want mark on my account lol)

To op, id say don’t worry so much…week goes fast! 60 points is like $6. not much. only thing is maybe strike on account could be bad. It sucks but it might never happen again. Least have all documented if happens again.

Now i think that too since all the official reviews came in.
But still… i am a tinkerer and Bambu printers don’t offer much of a way to tinker with them, sadly.

I feel ya on that. I’m really interested in some of these printers like this. Like h3li0, it gets me thinking furniture, things like chairs or tables! ahhh, I want, haha.

I don’t even have the space for one of those things though. Maybe I can mount it to the ceiling.

For what that kind of machine weights, i hope you have a really strong ceiling

But i get ya. For you that would be the perfect machine since you tinker with big things. For me was more in the line of really, really big projects that i could print in one go… Oh well, maybe in the future comes another better, bigger machine

I don’t believe that the double boost alone is causing the issue, as it seems to happen frequently, and, as you mentioned, two boosts equal 24 points, not the 60 points that were deducted. I have three possible explanations for your situation:

  1. The response may be partially or entirely unrelated to what actually occurred.
  2. You might have received 5 boosts (equaling 60 points) from either a single user or a combination of users. It’s possible that one or more of these users involved are flagged, or there may be other indicators, like direct messages discussing boost-for-boost offers, that triggered this response.
  3. You might be withholding some information (either knowingly or unknowingly) that is relevant to your case.

I’m not suggesting any involvement in fraudulent activity, but I’m 100% certain that receiving just 2 legit boosts would not lead to a temporary ban.

While it may not directly relate to your case, I suspect there’s a new fraud detection mechanism in place. I’ve had my second points review in 24 hours, which is unusual as I hadn’t seen a review in months. Unfortunately, manual reviews don’t guarantee a favorable outcome—they can be unpredictable.

i get points review every week, it’s part of the process, and it’s fine, at least it means they actually do the verifications to combat the misuse, it’s not new it’s been there for a long time, it didn’t use to be every week, so they have indeed increased the frequency, but that’s normal as the platform grows

I believe that’s because you guys are raking in big reward points every week. I redeemed some very hard-earned points for a few gift cards Monday without any review. Please consider it a badge of honor to be reviewed. I am still trying to earn points fast enough to get my first review

So it’s clear, there are two common perceptions of the points review.

  1. System messages periodically telling you a review occurred and you may now redeem points
  2. You tried to redeem points, but, were prohibited and told to wait while a review is performed.

Which one are you talking about?

  • I suspect (1), I also get those frequently as well, most do.
  • I have only ever experienced (2) once though.

I imagine I am now in this category.

I did not enjoy the review which blocked me from redeeming points, it was at the start of the Anniversary sale and I started to wonder WHY, I had not done anything wrong, but, so many bad stories, would they find something outside of my control, false flag me, what was going on.

They said it would take up to a week, in my case, I was given the all-clear the following day.

“stories” can be the right word, here. I remember there was once a user posting that they got banned because they took a vacation?

I have never worried about MW taking points from me or banning me. I don’t know the reward points (coins) you guys got, but mine are covered with grease and smell like sweat

Both options happen indeed, but as I don’t let points accumulate - I redeem weekly - I alway get one or the other, and quite often is at redemption, but as you mention, despite it saying 7 days, it’s one or two max
